Most musicians never equip their studios with stolen hardware such as a mixer, or speakers. So why equip it with stolen software? It's just wrong.

You work hard to create your music. You don't want pirates stealing your hard work. No way. Without music software, most musicians would not be able to afford the high costs associated with the production of their music. Music software allows these musicians to turn ordinary computers into powerful studios. "Don't bite the hand that feeds you".

These products are created by real people, whose livelihood depends on the successful sales of their products. Don't deprive them of what is rightfully theirs. Don't use pirated software in your music productions.

Do the right thing - 'buy the software you use'

There is great strength in numbers and every bit helps… Whether you are a professional, semi-professional or hobbyist; a software vendor, reseller or a music production educator, you rely on music software to do your job.

As a music creator, we need you to support IMSTA's cause and to support the music software companies that create some of the most innovative music production products for you to enjoy. You can help first and foremost by, legally purchasing the software you use. You can also take the IMSTA Piracy Survey, which provides software companies the feedback they need in order to serve you better. Lastly, come and enjoy any events that IMSTA has in your area.

If you are a software developer, manufacturer, publisher, distributor, or reseller, you have a vested interest in the longevity of the Music Software Industry. Please become a member of IMSTA and support your organization in educating your customers and helping your business. If you are an educator, please ensure that all your labs and studios are Piracy Free Zones. This also means you should audit and ensure none of the students install unauthorized software on your computers. We also need you to incorporate Piracy Education, specifically Software Piracy Education in your curriculum.
